The Center for Urban and Environmental Change at Indiana State University is a joint effort among several academic departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, including the Department of Geography, Geology, and Anthropology, Department of Ecology and Organismal Biology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Economics, and others. The Center focuses on studies of the causes, effects, and responses to environmental change in cities and urban/suburban areas, especially those in Indiana and the Midwest. Programs and activities relate to both the science and the management of urban environmental change, including policy, regulation, technology, impact adaptation, mitigation, and remediation.
